TATTOOS

How do I book in for my free touch-up?

Simple! Assuming you've gotten the tattoo less than 6 months ago, please fill out the form on the inquire page and we'll go from there.

How can I find out when you are next coming to “X”?

By joining the my register! You’ll get to find out when I’m coming to your city and have the chance to book in before those not on the register! You are more than welcome to join as many registers you’d like on the register page :)

Do you do custom designs for tattoos?

Yes! I’m more than happy to create a custom design for you, but please note that there is an additional $40 AUD fee that increases by $40 AUD for every tier above Tier 1 and for every 3cm over 22cm. If you have a rough idea of what you’re after, just head over to the book page to secure yourself a session. If you aren’t sure about you’re after, then go to the inquire page, fill it out, and I’ll get back to you!

Can I book in for a date and/or time you have greyed out?

Maybe! There are a few reasons why sessions are greyed out. The most obvious one is that the session is taken, I could be wanting to focus on my current bookings, or it might be my day off and I’m pondering my orb about going on a holiday. With that said, I’ve previously allowed clients to book in for sessions that usually aren’t available, so please feel free to ask about availability via the inquire page!

Do you do tattoos of real people or subjects from media?

Maybe. In terms of real people, I’d now only create work depicting them if the person has been dead for at least 200 years and I feel comfortable creating the work. As for subjects from media (e.g. Griffith from Berserk), I don’t do 1-for-1 copies as that could be a copyright liability. I may be willing to do my own take on a subject depending on whether the creator has made a public statement on this matter, or if there is an existing precedent with the creator’s work.

Can I use your design for a tattoo from another artist?

No. You are vehemently prohibited from using my designs for a tattoo, marketing material, or for any other cases without my explicit approval. The fact that you’re looking into this means you have good intentions, so I applaud you for that. For those that don’t know, copyright generally lasts for the life of the creator, plus 70 years after their death.

While other artists may be laissez-faire with their work, I am not. I have exercised my right to protect my work against artists, clients, and others domestically and internationally, and I will continue to do so.

Can I buy a design and get another artist to tattoo it?

No. I used to allow this, but I’ve since stopped offering the service due to the liability of other artists promoting my design as their own even with explicit legal safeguards. You’re more than welcome to still commission a design for your personal enjoyment though! If you're interested, please commission a design through the commission page.

Can I have this design you’ve already tattooed?

No. When I create a design, I make it in mind that it will be for a single person, not multiple. People often get excited about the unique design and show their friends and family, and it becomes a part of them. It doesn’t sit right with me to rob them of that. Good news is that I sometimes create a few unique versions of a design to choose from, and I happy to create a custom design that has a similar feeling if required!

Can I see my custom design early and provide feedback?

No. When you work with me, you’re trusting me with my artistic vision to create a design just for you. Designs are only revealed when they are complete. If I reach out to you to get feedback (which I often do), then you may of course provide feedback!

Can I use numbing products for my session?

No. While numbing products may help mitigate pain, in my experience they do more harm than good. They may make the tattooing and healing process longer and more difficult, so it’s less risky to just avoid it outright.

SHOP

How can I find out when products drop besides your socials?

Easy! Simply join the shop register! You’ll get to find out the name, theme, and release date for collections before those not on the register! You are more than welcome to join as many registers you’d like on the register page :)

How long do your goods take to get to me?

It varies… I aim to ship in batches every second Tuesday, so that’s when the goods usually get sent away. From there, it depends on where you live, and the shipping option you selected. As a general rule of thumb: if you live in Australia it may take 1 to 14 business days, while if you’re overseas it may take 14 to 28 business days.

Can you make this design into a print?

No. But maybe? If you’re only after a design as a print, then no. You’ll have to wait for it to potentially be in a print collection. If you want to see a design in a print collection, then please let me know via the inquiries page or make some noise in the comments of the post! With that said, if you’re commissioning me to create a design, you’ll have the option for it to be made into a print!

Can I still get a limited edition print even though they're sold out?

No. That wouldn’t make them very limited! If you’ve collected Magic: The Gathering cards or similar stuff, you know how much reprints suck when they just reuse old art on a new product, especially if there was a promise of it being limited in production. Please consider the standard edition variant of the print, otherwise I hope you can secure a limited edition print that you like in the future!

MISCELLANEOUS

How can I report someone using your work unauthorised?

Thank you for your concern. Please report all suspected cases of unauthorized use (including theft) via the report page and my team and I will investigate the matter.

What do I do if I want a to secure a design but can’t get it yet?

That’s okay! Everyone has things happening all the time, so I allow my clients to put down a 40% deposit to secure a design, date, and time up to three months in advance.

Can I use your design as a reference for my own work?

Yes! Any artist that says they don’t use references to create art isn’t being honest. Just ensure you do not copy or trace any aspect of my design, respect copyright law, and be honest with yourself regarding your intentions! A good way to prevent violating copyright is to gather many references (around 10) from different artists as a base for your own work and seeing what attributes you like from each of them. From there, you add your own artistic flair, and hopefully you’re on your way to create a stunning unique design!

Do you accept Afterpay?

Yes! I accept Afterpay for my prints and paying off tattoos, but it’s not available for commissions or putting down deposits for tattoos. Afterpay’s rules, not mine!

Can I re-post your work?

Maybe. Any of my work that is posted on “art sharing platforms" like Pinterest without permission will always be met with copyright takedowns, even if credit is provided. However, if the post falls under fair use, then it will not be met with a copyright takedown, provided credit is clearly provided. An example of fair use would be a post where there is clear intent and a reasonable effort made to invoke a discussion about engraving artists, which happens to feature my work.

Do you do commissions of real people or subjects from media?

Can I receive my commission in “X” file format?

No, but maybe? All of my work is provided as either a .png or .pdf by default, so you’ll always receive at least one of those formats regardless. However, if you request the design in a file format that my tools natively support and I can personally and easily provide it to you without any issues, then I can try to assist.

Do you do consultations?

No. I’ve had at best neutral experiences with consultations. More often than not, a simple email exchange would reap a lot more rewards, with the benefit of no travel time.

Do you do “X”?

No. Well, it’d be a no if you are asking if I do any of the following subjects:

  • Tattoos of designs that aren’t my own.

  • Coloured tattoos.

  • Cover-up tattoos.

  • Other styles or themes for tattoos or commissions.

  • Script, shapes, or patterns for tattoos or commissions.

Can you match another artist’s price?

No. If you reached out to an artist and they appreciated you enough to take time out of their day to work with you, you should appreciate their effort and work with them.

I still have a question you haven’t answered!

Oh no! If you still haven’t found an answer to your question, please feel free to use the inquire page and we’ll chat :)
